Euripides

Euripides , the ancient Greek 480-406 BC- one of the three great tragedians of ancient Greek
literature;
How right Euripides was when he muttered -

The mob gets out of hand,
Runs wild, worse;
Than raging fire,
While the man who stands apart
Is called a coward!

The reason it's a classic! This picture along with that of Kutubdeen Nasrudheen Ansari (pleading for life with folded hands )forms two of the most stunning images of Gujarat riots.

There you go again! Now Abhilash will write from New York! And then you will have to write about Muslim terrorists, Corrupt Congress, and all the frigging rest of it!

Give it a rest, will ya? All it proves that man has not changed since the BCs. Nothing new in that knowledge either.

Euripides knew that man would never change.

The picture was incidental, more because that being from the recent history of macabre mob violence.

Yes I remember the Blogger Abhilash who commented on KPJ's blog. The gentleman is of the opinion that rape and violation of modesty is ok as long as it is in Kashmir or in some remote Surianelli or any other village. All is well with rape as long as it is not inflicted on his kith and kin.And if one demands independence for a territory because rape happened then even Kerala must demand independence. So spake he.
If not that was the essence of his comment.

"Perhaps violence, like pornography, is some kind of an evolutionary standby system, a last-resort device for throwing a wild joker into the game?"

evil and good has the same face.. theres a devil in each one of us... waiting to unleash at the right time.. in a mob frenzy perhaps.. where the calm mind of reasoning is muddled in smoke of ignorance... Lets not judge
